What is Post Concussion Syndrome?

Post-concussive syndrome refers to the symptoms that an individual experiences beyond the expected recovery period of an injury.

For example, suppose you experienced a concussion due to a car accident. In that case, your doctor may tell you that people typically experience symptoms of a concussion within the first seven to 10 days. Your symptoms may be expected to go away within three months.

If you are experiencing post-concussion syndrome, you may still be experiencing symptoms for a year or more after the accident. According to the Mayo Clinic, symptoms of post-concussion syndrome include headaches, dizziness, and problems with concentration and memory. You may even find that your personality has changed as a result of your injury.
